Bryan Frew - Co-Owner/founder

Bryan started the Sodbusters for the first season in 2018. Him and his wife currently live in Doniphan and have three children; Charlie (7), Lanie (5), and Natalie (3). Bryan has stepped back from the operations and works as a tax accountant for Lutz and Company.

Bryan has always been a baseball fan as well as having experience as a player and coach. Bryan grew up in Grand Island, playing baseball for Grand Island Senior High, Grand Island Home Federal before receiving a baseball scholarship to UNO in 2004. During his college days, he played collegiate summer ball in Eau Claire, Wisconsin for 2 years. Bryan cherished his time as a player in summer baseball and brings a unique viewpoint to both the league and the Sodbusters organization. After college, Bryan was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies and spent 2 years in the minor league system. After being released, he played one summer of independent league professional baseball in Traverse City, Michigan. After his baseball career, he completed his accounting degree, attained his CPA license, and began his career in accounting.

Bryan never removed himself from the game, spending 7 years as an assistant coach and head coach for Grand Island’s top American Legion Baseball team, Home Federal. For the last two summers, Bryan has spent time in the dugout, managing the Sodbusters, leading the team to a playoff berth in the inaugural season and coming up just short in year 2. Bryan and his family are incredibly grateful to be a part of bringing a professional baseball-like organization to Hastings and the surrounding communities. He looks forward to the best years and is eternally indebted to all the great people that helped make the Hastings Sodbusters happen.
